What is IMS?

Integrated management is a concept whereby functional management is dispersed throughout an organisation so that managers manage a range of functions, e.g. an operations manager would manage planning, safety, quality, environment, human resources, risk, finance etc. Therefore integrating several management systems into a unified system that share documentation, policies, procedures and processes and that ideally address all organisational objectives at once makes sense for any organisation.

EMS - Environmental Management System

An Environmental Management System refers to the management of an organisation's environmental programs in a comprehensive, systematic, planned and documented manner in order to determine and continuously improve an organisations' environmental position and performance.

The most widely used standard on which an EMS is based is ISO 14001.

MRS - Management of Records System

Management systems for records specifies requirements to be met by a management system for records (MSR) in order to support an organization in the achievement of its mandate, mission, strategy and goals.

It addresses the development and implementation of a records policy and objectives and gives information on measuring and monitoring performance.

It is especially useful to demonstrate compliance with the documentation and records requirements of other MSS.

RMS - Risk Management System

The Risk Management System provide a guideline and principles to manage risk in an organization.

ISO 31000 is an internationally applied standard providing guidelines for the design, implementation and maintenance of risk management processes throughout an organization.

This approach to risk management allows all strategic, management and operational functions of an organization throughout projects, functions and processes to be aligned to a common set of risk management objectives.

IMS - Information Security Management System

An Information Security Management System determines how an organization should organize and manage its information security.

ISO 27001 is an internationally applied standard providing the specifications for an information security management system.

It is a framework of procedures and policies that includes all legal, physical and technical controls required for an organization to manage information risk management processes.

QMS - Quality Managements System

A quality management system is a collection of organizational policies, processes and procedures required for planning and execution of the organizational core business area focused on achieving quality policy and objectives to meet with customer requirements. The ISO 9000 family of standards are the most widely implemented standard.

ISO 9001:2015 will replace ISO 9001:2008 and we have already converted our QMS documentation to include the changes without impacting on organizations who is certified in accordance with ISO 9001:2008 but to allow for an easy conversion to ISO 9001:2015.

This includes providing a risk management approach based on ISO 31000:2009 in order to support the additional risk approach in ISO 9001:2015 as well as to allow an organization to implement an enterprise wide risk management approach as an added compliance and business optimization solution.

SMS - Safety Management System

The SMS determines and continually improves an organisations Occupational Health and Safety position and performance. OHSAS 18001 is an internationally applied standard for occupational health and safety management systems.

Our SMS standard is written in line with the OHSAS 18001 standards and includes key regulatory compliance aspects in line with country specific Acts and Regulations prescribing Occupational Health and Safety.
